Summer Mentorship Programs
In 2023, we launched a 4-6 week mentorship program for high school students in the westside of Columbus. During our program we conducted weekly meetings, and workshops where we tackled certain topics to help our students achieve their goals. By the end of the program, our mentees had accomplished a remarkable feat: completing 50 hours of community service, crafting professional resumes, and achieving a personal goal. To celebrate their accomplishments, we presented each student with a certificate of completion and organized a group trip to Kings Island.
Annual Back to School Drives
At Youth Development of Columbus, we host back-to-school drives to support students in need within our community. By organizing these drives, we aim to alleviate some of the financial burdens that families face when preparing for the school year. Our goal is to provide essential school supplies, backpacks, and clothing items to children who may not have access to these resources otherwise. Through these efforts, we strive to empower students to start the school year with confidence and the necessary tools to succeed academically.
